Our Community
At St. Luke's we do a lot of things in the community,
from carol-singing to Easter parades. On this page you can find
information about just a few of the things we do in and out of school.
Our School Council
At St Luke's we think that we should have an active
part in decisions made about our school. So we have something called a
School Council. We choose two people from each of the junior classes,
called councillors, and they all meet regularly to discuss important
school stuff. If we think something should happen, or something isn't
right, we take our ideas to Mrs Kerwin and the teachers, and they sort
it out.

Council' as the subject.
Our Governors
When big stuff needs to be talked about, like
building work, or new teachers, the Governors get together. They all
have different jobs, some are parents, others know useful things, like
finance. They choose someone to be the Head of the Governors and they make all
the big decisions. They ask our opinion a lot though.

Parent Teacher Association (P.T.A.)
We have what's called a PTA at St. Luke's. Parents
get together at something called an annual General Meeting, and there
they come up with ideas to raise money. This year they've had quite a
few events, including a ball and a quiz night.
They also come into school a lot. Quite a few of our
class helpers are part of the PTA. Last Christmas, a lot of them came in
and helped us to make crafts, which was fun.

The Wider Community
At St Luke's we do a lot of things outside of school
as well. We go to Sainsbury's and pack bags for the shoppers, and we
carol sing as well. Last year we sung at the Crosby Christmas lights
switch on too, and this year we're going to sing Beatles songs at John
Lennon Airport! Mr Heritage is really looking forward to it, because he
loves the Beatles. We play sport a lot in the other local schools, and we
won a football tournament last year at the Liverpool Academy!
