Community:

Our School Council

Here at St Luke's Halsall we believe that the children should have an active part in decisions made about the school. Subsequently, our School Council is of utmost importance. We have two councillors from each of the junior classes, and they meet regularly to discuss important school matters.

You can send any of your comments to our school council for their consideration as well, just write "School Council" in the subject line of your email or post c/o School Council at the address on our contacts page.

Our Governors

Being of Voluntary Aided status, we have 14 members on the full governing body.

Parent Teacher Association (P.T.A.)

We have a very active PTA at St. Luke's. Parents are encouraged to join the committee at the annual General Meeting in order to organise social and fundraising events. The main function of the PTA is to provide valuable extras which may not be available through the school's budget. Already this year they have organised several successful events, including a ball and a quiz night.

They are also an integral part of the school community, with many committee members volunteering in school on a regular basis, and participating in school activities, such as craft-making at Christmas. This year alone, they have provided significant funds that have enabled the school to redecorate the junior classrooms and install an outdoor fitness trail.

To contact our PTA, use any of the addresses on our contacts page and mark your correspondence 'PTA'.

The Wider Community

As well as a thriving school community, at St Luke's we pride ourselves on our excellent relations with the wider community. We are involved in various inter-school competitions, including football and tag rugby. We also do some carol-singing at Christmas. Last year, we sang at the Crosby village Christmas lights switch-on.
