At St Luke's Halsall CE Primary School we encourage the children to think of themselves as musicians. We believe that music is a universal language that embodies one of the highest forms of creativity. Music engages us and inspires us to develop a love of music and our talent as musicians, and so increase our self-confidence, creativity and sense of achievement. We aim to develop a critical engagement with music, allowing us to compose, and to listen with discrimination to a wide variety of music.
We follow a scheme of work for music called Charanga. In years 2 and 3 we are delighted to be able to offer sessions from Gareth our specialist teacher from 'Musical Minds'. In year 4 all children in the class have the opportunity to learn a brass instrument!
