Welcome

My commandment is this, 'Love one another as I love you.' John 15 v 12

Welcome to St Luke's Halsall Church of England Primary School

Headteacher's Welcome
St. Luke's Halsall is a vibrant, happy school where children enjoy learning. We believe that this school is special and the relationships we develop with our children and their families enables us to create a friendly, caring and supportive atmosphere. Our committed teaching and support staff strive to bring out the very best in our children and equip them with the skills they will need for the future. We hold Christian values at the heart of all we do.

We have a multitude of activities and events going on. This website aims to give you a taster of the school, as well as providing regular updated information for both parents and pupils.

We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find any information you are looking for. Please feel free to leave comments in the Guestbook, or contact the school direct with any queries you may have.

Thank you for visiting!

Chair of Governors' Welcome
I am delighted and honoured to hold the position of Chair of Governors at this very special and caring Christian school.  Our team of committed and dedicated governors work alongside Mr Miller and his amazing staff. Together, we strive to ensure that all our boys and girls are cherished and nurtured within the love of God. We want them all to enjoy a rich, fun-filled and high quality education and to give them all ‘wings to fly!’

The governors have been chosen to represent the church as foundation governors, the Local Authority, the teaching and support staff and most importantly yourselves as parents and carers of children attending our school. Governors bring with them a wide range of experience which makes them effective in helping to run our school. We have governors with expertise in health and safety, finance, health care, building maintenance and education.

St Luke's holds a very special place in my heart! I did in fact spend 11 years wonderful years as a teacher at St Luke’s prior to becoming Headteacher at St John’s CE Primary school in Ainsdale for 17 very happy years. My two grown up sons also attended the school and as a family we have worshipped at St Luke’s church for over 35 years!! so, I feel as though I am ‘coming home’ and that God has given me the chance to give something back to the school which has given me and my family so much. I am indeed blessed.

Please be assured that in all we do, we will have the best interests of your children at heart.  With Christ as the ‘heartbeat’ of St Luke’s school family we are all in His love and care.  We believe that we have been entrusted with the education and care or your children and we celebrate the ‘uniqueness’ of each of them as a child of God. They are all awesome!!!!!

With good wishes,
Lesley Deninson

Welcome from St Luke’s Church

St Luke’s Church on Liverpool Road is a key part of St Luke’s School.  We are involved in School Assemblies each Monday and some RE lessons, as invited, we also host the school’s Easter, Harvest, St. Luke’s Day and Christmas services in church, as well as their beginning and end of term services, and we appoint the Foundation Governors.

For many parents/carers the attraction of a church school is the values it teaches and the ethos behind school life.  These come from the example of loving and living that Jesus gives us, and which we learn about both in church and in school, an example of love, service and sacrifice which is at the heart of the Christian faith.  If it wasn’t for Jesus we would have no church and no church schools either!

At St Luke’s we would consider those attending the school and their families to be part of our wider community and would love to welcome you to meet with us, both on Sundays and during the week at our various activities. We hope that you will want to join with others in knowing the love of Jesus and learning about a life of Christian faith, and so be able to better support your children as they learn these things in their time at St Luke’s School.  Parents and Carers have a big responsibility for their children, influencing their lives and decisions, and we consider it a privilege to both support you and share that responsibility with you as our children grow into all God has for them.
