At St Luke's Halsall CE Primary School we like to think of ourselves as linguists, studying Spanish. We start to learn Spanish in Year 3 and welcome Juan into our weekly lessons! We believe that learning a foreign language extends horizons and provides an opening to other cultures. Learning Spanish also helps develop curiosity and deepens our understanding of the world. We try to express our ideas and thoughts in Spanish and to understand and respond to its speakers, both in speech and in writing. Learning Spanish provides opportunities for us to communicate for practical purposes and learn new ways of thinking. Learning Spanish provides us with the foundation for learning further languages, equipping us to study and work in other countries.
